D’Angelo Estate Vineyard will shortly launch its 2005 "Fugiastro, Yarra Valley" and 2005 "Fugiastro, Officer.
Fugiastro is Italian for wild. This very special offering will be launched early 2007.
Benny D’Angelo has pioneered this style based on sourcing the oldest Pinot Noir Fruit from the D'Angelo Estate Vineyard in the Yarra Valley, Victoria and Pinot Noir from the families Officer, Victoria Estate Vineyard.
July 2007 marks the date of the first ever release of a D’Angelo Estate reserve wine. Under the brand name “The Don” this 2005 Shiraz from Langhorne Creek has it all. But be quick this will be on allocation only and will go immediately.
Benny D’Angelo has crafted a first, a unique Pinot Noir Port. This wine is a result of a extremely dry 2005 vintage producing very small grape berries with intense flavour and intense colour.
With this material to work with “we allowed the fruit to remain on the vine until well into the autumn and reaching 15% alcohol”.
The fruit was then crushed, pressed and fortified to 19% alcohol. The wine displays rum raison characteristics. The palate has complex structure and great power yet has an almost dry finish.
This 375ml bottle will sell for $25.00, but be quick because there are only 4 barrels of wine available.
Western Port Liqueur is constructed by pressing the Pinot Noir grape used in our “Blanc De Noir” Sparkling wine.
The finished wine is then fortified to approximately 19% alcohol. The wine shows a medium gold colour and a sweeter style with complex mandarin and citrus flavours with a palate rich and textured.
This 375 ml bottle will sell for $25.00, and will be offered on allocation only as there is only one barrel available.
