pinot noir 2003purchase
pinot noir 2001

This Pinot Noir was matured for 18 months in new and old French oak before bottling and no filter or finning has been done so as not to strip the wine of any character.

Although this wine is higher in alcohol than the 2002, and yet he same as the 2001. I find that using less new oak in this vintage the wine is more approachable at a earlier age and is more in balance on the palate.

This Pinot Noir is deep crimson brick red colour with brick crimson hues. Excellent nose showing strong varietal character, with notes of cherry and spice. The palate displays classic Pinot Noir, strong flavours of cherry, strawberries and spices, which fill the mouth.

Superb silky smooth texture and velvet tannins. Excellent length, followed by very long cherry, plum, spice after taste.

Cellar 4 to 8 years. Alc/Vol. 14% (Mail order only)
